On and off the track
Brian Henton raced in F1 between 1975 and 1982, with spells at Lotus, Toleman, Arrows and Tyrrell, almost always in uncompetitive cars. His peak came in Formula 2, where he won the 1980 European championship for Toleman, a result that carried both team and driver into F1 the following year. In 1982 he set the fastest lap of the British Grand Prix for Tyrrell, making him the only driver in F1 history with a fastest lap but no championship points. After stepping away from racing, he returned to business with a car dealership and later prospered in property development.
