Sakon Yamamoto raced in F1 between 2006 and 2010, always for back-of-the-grid teams, Super Aguri, Spyker and HRT, and ended his career without scoring points, though with the distinction of having driven for three different teams in different eras of the sport. After racing he took a path rare among former drivers: Japanese politics.
