On and off the track

Marcus Ericsson raced five F1 seasons with Caterham (2014) and Sauber (2015 to 2018), scoring points but never getting machinery to shine. His move to IndyCar transformed his career: driving for Chip Ganassi, he won the 2022 Indy 500, holding off Pato O'Ward in a dramatic late restart. Since 2024 he has driven the No. 28 Honda for Andretti Global, with his seat confirmed for 2026 as well, established as one of the series' proven winners.

Marcus Ericsson's milestones

Between the 2014 Australian Grand Prix, held at Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit, and the 2018 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, Marcus Ericsson (Swedish) built the whole career. The on-track high point was a P8 finish at the 2015 Australian Grand Prix. It added up to 97 starts spread over 22 circuits in 22 countries, at 0.2 points per start. The most worn colours were those of Sauber, for 81 races.

The points peak came in 2015, with 9. From the debut in 2014 to the last season in 2018, every year in the table above has its own page; the titles of the period sit with the Formula 1 world champions.
