On and off the track

The first Indian to race in F1, Karthikeyan debuted with Jordan in 2005 and returned with the modest HRT team in 2011 and 2012, always fighting at the back with limited machinery. His post-F1 career was remarkably varied: he raced in the NASCAR Truck Series in 2010, where he was voted most popular driver, competed in Japan's Super Formula from 2014 to 2018 with a podium at Suzuka in 2015, and won the Super GT x DTM Dream Race at Fuji in 2019. In 2020 he founded DriveX, an Indian platform for refurbished two-wheelers that attracted investment from the TVS Group, cementing his new life as an entrepreneur.

Narain Karthikeyan's milestones

Narain Karthikeyan (Indian) arrived at the 2005 Australian Grand Prix, at Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit, and bowed out at the 2012 Brazilian Grand Prix. The on-track high point was a P4 finish at the 2005 United States Grand Prix. The final tally reads 46 starts, 25 different circuits, 21 countries and 0.1 points per race on average. No team kept the driver longer than HRT, over 27 races.

No season paid more points than 2005 (5). It is worth opening the debut, in 2005, the farewell, in 2012, and the list of Formula 1 world champions of the era.
