On and off the track
Marques had three spells at Minardi, in 1996, 1997 and 2001, when he partnered rookie Fernando Alonso, but never had the machinery to show the talent he had displayed in junior categories. Back in Brazil he raced in Stock Car Brasil, winning races in 2006 and 2007, and tried his hand at other forms of motorsport. He built a new career in vehicle customization as the owner of Tarso Marques Concept, creating one-off cars and motorcycles, and became a household name in Brazil through the Lata Velha segment on TV Globo's Caldeirao do Huck.
